Welcome to our FAQ blog post! We’ve gathered some of the most frequently asked questions about Inspire National Dance Competition to help answer your queries quickly and easily. Whether you’re new to our dance family or a returning participant, we’re here to provide all the information you need. Let’s get started!

1. What is Inspire National Dance Competition?
   Inspire National Dance Competition is a family-founded and community-focused dance competition that began in the summer of 2014. Inspire started with a simple mission: to provide a space where dancers of all ages and levels could showcase their talents in an encouraging, professional environment. As we’ve grown over the years, our core values have remained the same—we are dedicated to nurturing a positive experience that celebrates artistry, hard work, and the joy of dance. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just starting out, Inspire offers a supportive platform for dancers to grow, compete, and, most importantly, inspire others.

2. How long has Inspire National Dance Competition been around?
   Inspire NDC began in the summer of 2014 with our first competition season kick off in 2015. We have since grown to include regional events across 9 states in the southeast part of the United States.

3. What sets Inspire National Dance Competition apart from other competitions?
   At Inspire NDC, we believe that dance is more than just competition—it’s about community, inspiration, and inclusivity. Our ultimate goal is for dancers to leave feeling inspired. From our Golden Egg award that gives special recognition to a group routine that caught a judge’s eye to our Inspiring Gems category, which provides a supportive and uplifting platform for special needs dancers to showcase their talents, we want to make Inspire NDC more than just a competition. We’re a place where every dancer can feel seen, supported, and celebrated!

4. How do I register for an Inspire National Dance Competition event?
   Registration can be done through your studio owner using the DanceCompGenie system. You may contact our office at info@inspirendc.com for more information.

5. How are the performances judged?
   Our judges score electronically and give critiques through a digital recording. They will score on four categories: technical ability (35%), synchronization/execution (25%), choreography/routine (20%), and presentation/performance (20%). Based on division levels, a routine will then be adjudicated using the following breakdown:

6. What awards and recognition do participants receive?
   In addition to our adjudication awards, we offer lots of other awards including Overall Awards, Top performers, All-Stars, Photogenic, and Costume awards. Additionally, we have our Golden Egg awards that are given during the competition as well as studio awards that are given out during awards ceremonies. 7. What is the Golden Egg award?
   The Golden Egg award is a special judge’s choice award. It is a chance for the judges to immediately recognize a group dance that really stood out to them- from being a creative idea to the amazing energy that was brough on stage. The Golden Egg award is a chance for the judges to recognize a routine that meant something to them and give the recognition earned from their performance.

8. Do you offer workshops or masterclasses in addition to competitions?
   We are beyond excited to also have our Inspire Intensives. These are our conventions that occur during the fall season and offer 6 styles of classes including an audition style class.
